Rafael Nadal becomes the first player to win 21 Grand Slams: bounces back after losing 2 consecutive sets in the final of the Australian Open; Made history by defeating Medvedev



Rafael Nadal has become the first player to win 21 Grand Slams. The 35-year-old Spanish tennis player made history by beating 25-year-old Russian star Daniel Medvedev 2-6, 6-7, 6-4, 6-4, 6-4 in a five-set match in the final of the Australian Open. This is Nadal's second Australian Open and 21st Grand Slam title of his career.

Nadal also became the first male player to win the men's singles title in the 145-year history of the Grand Slam. He has overtaken Roger Federer of Switzerland and Novak Djokovic of Serbia. Both have won a total of 20-20 Grand Slam titles

Nadal also won in the fourth set

After a great comeback in the third set, Rafael Nadal maintained his superb rhythm in the fourth set. He also won the fourth set by a margin of 6-4. However, after losing the first 2 sets, Nadal regained his momentum and superb rhythm and was found to be breathing heavily to Medvedev. 

Nadal won the third set 6-4

After losing the first two sets, Nadal bounced back in the third set. He defeated Medvedev by a margin of 6-4 to win the third set straight. 

He caught the momentum after losing the first set by a margin of 6-2.

Nadal fought hard and did not give Medvedev a chance to return in the third set. With this, Nadal won the third set 6-4. 

Medvedev's struggling win in the second set

After winning the first set easily, Medvedev worked hard to win the second set. In this set, Nadal bounced back and showed the game. But in the final, Medvedev broke the score at 6-6 and won the second set by 7.7-6.5. 

Medvedev's dominance in the first set

In the final match, the Russian player Medvedev showed a great game from the first set. He beat Nadal 6-2 in the final to maintain a great rhythm. 

Medvedev also shattered Djokovic's dream

There was a match between Djokovic and Medvedev in the US Open final last year. Djokovic, who won the match, wanted to set the record for most Grand Slam wins. But Medvedev won the Grand Slam with a superb offensive game.
